There are significant differences between local governments in Victoria and in North America in regards to their responsibilities, their political structures and in the key issues that they face. However there is much in common in the area of asset management. The issues of ageing assets, the understanding of asset condition, the planning of asset renewal and the allocation of resources are similar issues to those we are familiar with in Victoria. This report explores the various uses of technology in asset management.
