American Public Works Engineers visit to Victoria

The MEFV in partnership with the Chicago Chapter of the American Public Works Association was pleased to support the visit of two Chicago public works engineers to Victoria in May 2024. 

•              Jackie Dearborn, Manager Grounds, Rigging and Transportation at the Argonne National Laboratory, Lemont, Illinois.

•              Dan Dinges, Director of Public Works at the Village of Bartlett, Illinois

Their study topics included asset management and improving service delivery and they were keen to learn from their Victorian colleagues

The MEFV worked with Jackie and Dan to develop a two week itinerary to explore their study topics and attend the Institute Public Works Engineers Australasia National Public Works Conference in Melbourne in May.  The tour involved visiting the following councils:

•              Bass Coast Shire

•              Melton City Council

•              Whitehorse City Council

•              Melbourne City Council

A special thanks to James Kelly, Sam Romaszko, Steven White and Rick Kwasek and all their staff involved for hosting the sessions and sharing their knowledge with our two American guests.
